William E. Russell

  

William E. Russell is an Attorney and Counselor-at-Law in the State of New York and was admitted to the practice of law in 1973. He was the sole proprietor of a general law practice in Keeseville, New York from 1973 until 1996, when he and his then-associate, Michael D. McCormick, formed the partnership of Russell & McCormick.  On January 1, 2015, Bill's son Andrew J. Russell joined the partnership and they formed Russell, McCormick & Russell.
 
Mr. Russell graduated from SUNY at Albany in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration. He graduated from Albany Law School in 1972, earning a Juris Doctor Degree. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of New York and in all Courts of the State of New York, as well as the Federal Court System. He has argued criminal and civil cases in the NYS Apellate Division and NYS Court of Appeals.  In 1976, he received a certificate to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States. He was the Town Attorney for the Town of AuSable from 1976 until 2010, an Assistant District Attorney for Clinton County, New York from 1976 to 1986, and has been a member of the Clinton County Bar Association, the Essex County Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association since 1973. He has also served as President of the Clinton County Bar Association and Essex County Bar Association and served two terms on the New York State Bar Association House of Delegates.  In 1989, he received the New York State Bar Association President's pro bono award for the 4th Judicial District. He is Examining Counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company and has been or is a Mortgage Review Attorney for Keeseville National Bank, Albany Savings Bank, Charter One Bank, Evergreen Bank, TD Bank, N.A. and M&T Bank.
 
His community service includes  an appointment by Governor Mario Cuomo as a Trustee for Clinton Community College.  He has almost 20 years of service as a Director in the Keeseville Youth Commission, a joint youth recreation bureau involving the municipalities of the Town of AuSable, Town of Chesterfield, and the Village of Keeseville; 14 years of service as a Director of North Country Legal Services, a non-profit legal services organization for disabled and low- income individuals; and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Clinton Community College Foundation.
 
He married Marcia A. Graziano, formerly of Albany, New York, in 1969. They have resided in Keeseville since 1972 and have three sons, Jeremy, Matthew, and Andrew.



Michael D. McCormick

 


Michael D. McCormick is an Attorney and Counselor-at-Law in the State of New York and was admitted to practice in all courts in New York State in 1990. He was an associate with the Law Firm of Bartlett, Pontiff, Stewart, Rhodes, and Judge in Glens Falls, New York and the Law Office of William E. Russell in Keeseville, New York from 1989 through 1995. In 1996, he formed the partnership of Russell & McCormick with William E. Russell. On January 1, 2015, he formed Russell, McCormick & Russell, a new partnership with William Russell and Andrew Russell.

Mr. McCormick is a high honors graduate of AuSable Valley Central School.  He graduated magna cum laude from State University College at Potsdam in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry.  He earned a Juris Doctor Degree cum laude from Albany Law School in 1989.  He was also admitted to practice in the Federal Court System in 1990 and in the Federal Tax Court in 1992.  He has been a Town Attorney for the Town of Chesterfield since 1996 and for the Town of Schuyler Falls since 2013.  He was a past member of the Warren County Bar Association, and has been a member of the Clinton County Bar Association and Essex County Bar Association, since 1992. He was the President of the Essex County Bar Association in 2014. He has also been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1990. He is Examining Counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company and has been a Mortgage Review Attorney for Keeseville National Bank, First National Bank of Glens Falls, Evergreen Bank, Banknorth, Albany Savings Bank, Charter One Bank, and Glens Falls National Bank.  He is currently the Mortgage Review Attorney for TD Bank, NA and M&T Bank.
 
His community service includes positions as Trustee and Treasurer of the Keeseville Free Library and as a Director of the Lake Champlain Waves Swim Team, Inc.  He is a past Trustee and former President of the Kent Delord House Museum in Plattsburgh, New York.  He served six years as a Member of the Committee on Professional Standards for the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department, a committee which oversees attorney conduct.  He also volunteers his time helping to develop school age swimming athletes.  He is married to Catherine M. Paul, Esq., formerly of Pittsford, New York.  They have three children, Henry, Emily, and Allison.




Andrew J. Russell





 Andrew J. Russell is an Attorney and Counselor-at-Law for the State of New York.  Mr. Russell graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Minor in Music. In 2008, he graduated from Albany Law School with a Juris Doctor degree and was admitted to practice law in 2009 in all Courts of the State of New York as well as the Federal Court System.  On January 1, 2015, Andrew joined the partnership with his father, William Russell and Michael McCormick to form Russell, McCormick & Russell.

He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Clinton County Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association since 2009.  He was a House of Delegates member of the New York State Bar Association representing the 4th Judicial District from 2010 to 2012.  He is an Examining Counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company and is the Mortgage Review Attorney for TD Bank, NA and M&T Bank.  In 2018, he was elected Town Justice for the Town of Chesterfield.

He is currently the Vice President for the Literacy Volunteers for Essex/Franklin County, NY;  a Member-At-Large for the Adirondack Regional Theatre (ART) in Plattsburgh; Secretary for Artistry Community Theatre (ACT) in Keeseville; a Board Member for the Keeseville Community Development Corporation; a member of the North Country Tennis Association in Plattsburgh; and also a member of the Champlain Valley Voices Choir in Plattsburgh.
